This woman wanted to reduce the size of the bump on her nose and improve her nasal breathing. She had a complex caudal septal deviation that required anterior septal reconstruction. The sidewalls of her nose were supported with cartilage grafts to prevent collapse during inspiration. The dorsal hump was reduced and the nasal tip was defined and rotated (slightly upturned).

This young woman presented with concerns regarding nasal breathing and the appearance of her nose. From the side view, she did not like the hump on her nose. She had trouble breathing due to a deviated nasal septum and nasal valve collapse. The appearance of her nose did not change significantly on frontal or basal view. In her case, the primary objectives were to reduce the hump and improve her breathing. The improved contour of the nose creates an elegant result.

This young woman presented with concerns regarding nasal breathing and the appearance of her nose. From the front view, she did not like the deviation, and from the side view, she did not like the hump on her nose. She had trouble breathing through her nose due to nasal valve collapse, small nostrils, and a deviated nasal septum. The nose was straightened, the hump reduced, and the airway reconstructed. On the basal view, you can appreciate improved nostril symmetry and shape.

This woman presented after prior trauma and surgery. The hump was reduced, the nasal bones and cartilages were straightened, and the tip was rotated. Rib grafting was required in this case to provide adequate support to the nose given her prior surgery and trauma.

This woman had nasal breathing issues as well as concerns regarding the appearance of her nose. She had difficulty breathing due to a deviated nasal septum and weak nasal cartilage. To help her breathing the septal deformity was corrected, and the airway was supported with cartilage grafts. The dorsal hump was reduced, and the nasal tip was refined. This case demonstrates how the form and function of the nose go hand in hand.

The primary issue that was causing the disturbances in her breathing and tip asymmetry was caudal septal deviation. This is readily apparent on the basal view. The caudal septum is a very important component to the structure of the nose. It has a tremendous role in the support of your nasal tip and the shape of the lower 1/3 of your nose. Because of this, if it is removed it needs to be reconstructed with cartilage grafts. In this case the caudal septum was entirely reconstructed, and the tip refined. On frontal view and basal view improved tip definition and nostril symmetry can be appreciated. On the side view a small hump reduction is seen.

This man presented after having a prior septoplasty. His nasal breathing was excellent, but he desired a reduction of the nasal dorsum. The dorsum was conservatively reduced to keep the masculinity of his nose, but the remainder of his nasal features were kept constant.

This woman presented with concerns regarding the appearance of her nose and nasal breathing problems. From an aesthetic perspective we agreed to reduce the hump, deproject the nose (bring the tip closer to the face), refine the tip, and slightly augment her chin. On lateral view improved facial harmony can be appreciated. Her breathing issues were primarily caused from her deviated caudal septum. On base view her left nostril is much smaller preoperatively because of the deviated caudal septum. Postoperatively the nostril shape is improve and symmetric. This required complex caudal septal reconstruction.

This woman presented after trauma. Her caudal septal was fractured, which resulted in severe nasal breathing issues, and nostril asymmetry that can be appreciated from the basal view. In this case the objective was to create nostril symmetry and improve her nasal breathing. On frontal view she appears the same after surgery, which was the goal.

This young man presented with severe nasal breathing problems after trauma. His caudal septum was severely fractured resulting in essentially complete nasal airway obstruction. The caudal septum was reconstructed, and the nasal hump was reduced.

The hump was reduced, the caudal septum was reconstructed, the nasal tip was rotated and deprojected, and the nasal valves were supported with cartilage.
