Chin Augmentation St Louis

What is a Chin Augmentation?

A chin augmentation is the placement of a silicone implant in the chin to increase the projection of the chin. An incision is made beneath the chin, and the soft tissue is elevated off the bone of the chin. The implant is then placed directly over the bone of the jaw and sutured in place.

Dr. Namin’s Philosophy

A small chin, or microgenia, must be differentiated from retrognathia and other disorders of the jaw with improper occlusive relationships. In patients with normal occlusion, the appearance of a small chin can be significantly improved with the placement of an implant. This procedure is often completed in combination with rhinoplasty or neck lift.
